Scam artists use simple but very effective techniques to cheat you. They pretend to represent esteemed institutions such as a Bank or the RBI.
These cyber criminals use fake logos and email IDs that look official and trick you into giving out your sensitive details such as name, passwords, Credit / Debit Card details, PINs etc. and then misuse them. This clever way of tricking you is called Phishing, where they ‘fish’ for any information they can get out of you!
Phishing is usually carried out through fake emails, look-a-like website links or instant messaging. Responding to “phishing” emails puts your account at risk.
